A BIG thanks to everyone who prayed for and encouraged Blake, Andy and Kim today. The surgery for his pacemaker lead extraction was successful and the surgeon seemed pleased with the outcome, but wanted to keep him overnight for observation. Hopefully, he will be able to go home tomorrow. Please continue to pray for Blake as he recovers. He’s in a lot of pain and the anesthesia made him sick.
There may be a second surgery on Monday (or the first of next week) to implant a new pacemaker-defibrillator unit…maybe. The final decision is not yet made, but TODAY was a GOOD DAY and we are thankful to such great family and friends who have offered so much support and love!
This morning Blake posted this verse on his facebook…”Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your GOD will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). This verse was a great encouragement to him this morning and I hope it brings encouragement to you too.
Be blessed ~Alan

Alan, believe it or not, that was the verse God gave me to cling to when Randall had his heart surgery last year. It has become my life verse. I am prone to fear and discouragement. I am so thankful for His word to get us through these difficult times.
